Biography

Matt Arab was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. This local was married to the music at a young age and started performing under the stage name Quake. Known as one of the Maritimes fastest maturing urban artists, he is armed with an infectious flow and aggressive style, separating him from his competition.

In his early years as an MC Quake worked with several local artists and groups, that included being a founding member of the hip-hop act Fax4. Through the group he developed a friendship with hometown hero Classified, and has continued to look up to him over the years.

Choosing to rap about real-life experience, along with his struggles and successes in the music industry, he has gained a reputation as a very skilled lyricist. Escaping from the generic mould that rap has taken in recent years, Quake excels at of the lost art of story-telling, painting vivid pictures with his words.

Besides laying verses down in the studio, Quake is a natural performer and has gained a reputation for his live shows and freestyle battles. Having several online releases under his belt including; The Myth Tape & The Reality Tape, his debut album The Myth is set for a spring 2010 release.

In the past Quake has opened for artist such as; Raekwon, Method Man & Redman, Lupe Fiasco, T-Pain, Slaughterhouse and of course Classified.
